We believe artificial intelligence can play a role and we will do it profitably and sustainably.
INTELLIGENT INFRASTRUCTURE FOR AFRICAWe started Mirame on a simple premise: artificial intelligence and exponential technologies can solve 30-50% of Africa's most stubborn problems. The infrastructure we need isn't only the kind you think we do.While existing players need to press ahead with physical infrastructure development i.e., roads, rails, and hardware. At the center of the next great leap is something less visible: intelligence. Data, algorithms, and trust systems are the new infrastructure for inclusive growth. From financial access to climate resilience, prosperity now depends on whether people are seen, understood, and served by the systems around them. The Invisible CrisisBy 2038, Africa will be home to 2 billion people—over 20% of the world's population. The largest concentration of young people on Earth. Can we build infrastructure for them? Not just roads and energy, but systems that ensure equal access to opportunity regardless of background, identity, or circumstance? Can we design infrastructure that doesn't just "let people in" but actively empowers everyone? The challenge is real. While investment flows into physical infrastructure, invisible infrastructure including data, algorithms, identity, trust remains underfunded. Yet these systems decide who gets included or excluded from financial services, education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. Why Intelligence Matters NowHistory shows us a pattern: each age builds on the one before it. Agricultural societies needed stability before industrialization. Industrial progress closed gaps from the agricultural age. Today, we're in the intelligence age and those who fall behind will struggle to catch up.Africa must do something exciting i.e., leapfrog and build backwards simultaneously. We need roads, energy, and connectivity. But we also need intelligent infrastructure built differently this time with everyone in mind from day one.The Opportunity
As infrastructure evolves, it becomes more invisible. Roads mattered most in 1900. Digital identity matters most in 2030. The shift from tangible to intangible is accelerating. This creates three catalysts for change that are at the centre of why Mirame is doing what it is doing now:Timing — Mobile technology makes building intelligent systems cheaper and faster than ever before.
Urgency — The gap between global haves and have-nots widens daily as exponential technologies race forward.
Opportunity — Existing gaps are invitations for builders to create infrastructure purpose-built for Africans that:
1. Addresses access and equity for marginalized groups
2. Improves usability of existing systems
3. Puts people at the center, not just assets

She's a farmer in Nyamagabe, Rwanda. Every planting season, she needs $200 for seeds and fertilizer. She has no formal payslips, no collateral, no credit history just years of trust built within her savings group and a consistent mobile money trail. When she applies for a loan from her local microfinance institution, they want to help. But their tools can't assess her creditworthiness without traditional documentation. So she's denied. Again.Meanwhile, informal lenders charge her over 25% monthly interest.Chantal is one of 300 million Africans locked out of fair credit due to outdated assessment models.Tegeka is our answer. An AI-powered credit scoring platform that enables lenders including MFIs, SACCOs, and banks to assess borrowers like Chantal using alternative data: mobile money flows, utility payments, savings behavior, and community trust patterns. We're building credit infrastructure that works in low-data, low-connectivity environments. Real-time risk scores. Transparent, explainable decisions. Built with regulators, not around them. Our pilot launches in Rwanda with five financial institutions representing over 8,000 active borrowers. We're backed by early engagement with Rwanda's Central Bank and a growing network of lenders.Tegeka isn't just a scoring tool. It's the first rail in a system of intelligent infrastructure we're building for Africa starting with credit, expanding to where trust and data can unlock opportunity.Stay close by clicking the button(s) below.
