Agricultural societies needed stability before industrialization. Industrial progress closed gaps from the agricultural age. Today, we're in the intelligence age and those who fall behind will struggle to catch up.Africa must do something exciting i.e., leapfrog and build backwards simultaneously. We need roads, energy, and connectivity. But we also need intelligent infrastructure built differently this time with everyone in mind from day one.The Opportunity

She's a farmer in Nyamagabe, Rwanda. Every planting season, she needs $200 for seeds and fertilizer. She has no formal payslips, no collateral, no credit history just years of trust built within her savings group and a consistent mobile money trail.When she applies for a loan from her local microfinance institution, they want to help. But their tools can't assess her creditworthiness without traditional documentation. So she's denied. Again.Meanwhile, informal lenders charge her over 25% monthly interest.Chantal is one of 300 million Africans locked out of fair credit due to outdated assessment models.Tegeka is our answer. An AI-powered credit scoring platform that enables lenders including MFIs, SACCOs, and banks to assess borrowers like Chantal using alternative data: mobile money flows, utility payments, savings behavior, and community trust patterns.We're building credit infrastructure that works in low-data, low-connectivity environments. Real-time risk scores. Transparent, explainable decisions. Built with regulators, not around them.Our pilot launches in Rwanda with five financial institutions representing over 8,000 active borrowers.
